Les Nombres

Dedicated to its creators, Célimène Daudet on piano and Guillaume Latour on violin,
Les Nombres is a single-movement piece, lasting around 7 minutes 30.
Its name is a tribute to the evocative titles of certain French Baroque keyboard pieces. In this lyrical piece, the obsession with numbers and proportions is very present, with a highly structured “internal kitchen” and a real homage to two works I particularly like: Schoenberg’s Cinq pièces pour piano op. 23 and François Couperin’s Les Timbres.
It was premiered in Paris, Salle Cortot, by the dedicatees, on October 8, 2018.
