The original title of this poem is Marine; I preferred to call my melody L’Océan Sonore, the first sentence of this poem, which is part of the Poèmes saturniens Marine is, through the violence of events, the transposition of the young poet’s existential vertigo.
Agitated landscapes, impetuous, convulsive outbursts; L’Océan sonore palpite is the phrase that led me to write a melody for this poem.
This text, written in 1866, is incredibly modern.
