Matière, Espace, Temps
I like to think and feel instruments, harmonies and sounds as matter. I enjoy mixing them, blending them, superimposing them.
Space and time are intrinsically linked to music, in any work, whatever the period, language, style or instrumentation. Time is the very essence of the development of music, silences are part of it and are a space of thoughts, of expectations, they must never be empty of meaning.
For me, writing music is describing life, the movements of life. The rhythms differ from each other as the life rhythms of each being differ. This ten-minute piece for orchestra is born of a sequence of moments, of thoughts that unfold in time as a matter of course, naturally, without representing anything other than matter, space and time.
