Memento Vivo is a work for orchestra, deeply rooted in the celebration of humanist and republican values. Through this composition, the listener is invited on an introspective and collective journey, where commitment and salvation intertwine in a rich and symbolic musical dialogue. The work is structured in four distinct parts, each reflecting a key stage
in the journey of this commitment to life.

Mystérieux et assez lent: This first part evokes the emergence of the idea of commitment. The theme of commitment, consisting of four notes (ascending fifth, ascending minor third, descending major third), is introduced here in an atmosphere of mystery and uncertainty. The slow, haunting movement symbolizes the deep reflection, hesitation and doubts that precede any decision to commit; these are personified by the theme of doubt (descending second, descending minor third, ascending major second).

Vif:The second, more energetic part expresses the force of action once the decision has been made. The theme of commitment is contrasted with the theme of resolution, a long diatonic motif in sixteenth notes that symbolizes new-found clarity and determination. The contrast between these two themes illustrates inner conflict, but also perseverance in the face of challenges.

Très modéré: In this section, the chorale of commitment unfolds fully. Long values in contrasting movements represent the balance and harmony of opposing forces coming together to make common cause. The theme Servir makes its appearance here, an essential bridge linking individual commitment to collective resolve. It symbolizes the transition between the will to act and the concrete realization of this will in the service of others.

Extatique: The final section is an apotheosis, a happy celebration of successful collective action and salvation. The theme of resolution reappears in all its force, but this time in an enriched orchestral texture, marking the fulfillment and exaltation that flow from successful commitment. The various themes outlined above coalesce into a triumphant unity, testifying to the power and beauty of collective action in the service of universal, humanist values.
Memento Vivo is more than a musical work; it is a tribute to those who, every day, choose to commit themselves, to serve and to save. Through a variety of themes and a structure in four distinct movements, the work reveals the essence of this journey, from initial idea to accomplished action, in a dialogue between doubt, resolution and the ecstasy of fulfillment.
This composition is a reflection on the strength of commitment and the nobility of common endeavor, indispensable pillars in the construction of a harmonious, just and progressive
society.
