Peter BURIAN began his career as conductor of the Vienna Boys’ Choir in 1975. He became Chorus Master of London’s Royal Opera House in 1984, then of the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles in 1987.

Biography
An Austrian musician born in Vienna in 1951, Peter BURIAN began his career as conductor of the Vienna Boys’ Choir in 1975. He became Chorus Master of London’s Royal Opera House in 1984, then of the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles in 1987. In 1988, he formed a new choir at the Opéra des Flandres, then became Choir Director at the Bregenz Festival and the Salzburg Festival. In 1991, he became Chorus Director of the Vienna Staatsoper, continuing his international career with Johannesburg, the London Philharmonia Chorus, the Dutch Radio Chorus, the Flemish Radio Chorus, the Prague Chamber Chorus and Barcelona’s Liceu until 2002. He gives numerous concerts throughout the world as conductor, choirmaster and pianist. Since 2002, Peter BURIAN has conducted the Opéra National de Paris Choir. His career is marked by the writing of numerous Lieder, piano pieces and an Opera for which he wrote the libretto, based on Jean Anouilh’s “Colombe”.
