ISHIDA Sanae

Sanae Ishida was born in Nagasaki in 1979.

She studied composition with Masakazu NAGATOMI and Ichiro NODAIRA at the Tôkyô University of Fine Arts and Music, then at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris with Allain Gaussin, Marco Stroppa and Gérard Pesson.

Her music is inspired by the Japanese arts – Butô, martial arts, Noh theater, and Asian philosophies – ichigo ichié, once an encounter with Zen Buddhism, the non-action of Taoism. She creates music, for example, in the choreographic performance work “Enlacement corps et sons”, combining these sources of inspiration with her research into the interaction between bodily gesture and sound.

Ses oeuvres sont jouées par l’Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France,  Accroche Note, le Balcon, Solistes de l’Ensemble Intercontemporain, Atlas, Linéa, HANATSUmiroir, WolfGang etc ; ainsi que des solistes comme Pierre Strauch, Mihi Kim, Pierre-Yves Artaud, Marie-Andrée Joerger, Maruricio Carrasco, Elise Chauvin, Mari Sano, Naomi Shirai, Naomi Sato, Rémi Reber, Julie Brunet-Jailly, Masato MATSUURA- artiste martial).
