Biography

French composer, born in 1951. After musical studies at the CNR in Lille, he studied trombone in Paris with R. Katarzinsky, and conducting with J.-C. Hartmann. He obtained a 1st prize in fugue and composition with Y. Desportes.

Christian DACHEZ wrote several film scores, including “Destin” (1978) for the Festival Fantastique de Paris, and composed for advertising companies for both cinema and television, but training in the techniques of the UPIC workshops and listening to Ligeti’s Requiem determined his final direction.

He collaborates with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio-France, the Musicatreize and Soli-Tutti ensembles, the Octuor de Versailles, the Quintette “Just’à Cinq”, Armand Angster, Marie Kobayashi and other soloists…

He has been commissioned by the Accroche-note and Ardédie ensembles, the Octuor de Violoncelles, the Orchestre de Flûtes Français, the Octobre en Normandie and Aujourd’hui Musique festivals in Perpignan, Radio-France for the “Alla Breve” program, the Conservatoire National de Région de Lille, and the Ecoles Nationales de Musique de Beauvais and Arras.
