Lisa Heute is an artist involved in musical creation as a composer and accordionist. She completed a Master’s degree in composition at the CNSMD in Lyon, and in accordion at the ESM Bourgogne Franche Comté. A composer with a singular career path, she enjoys exploring the links between music and other arts, drawing inspiration from extra-musical works. She works on multidisciplinary projects combining music, video, poetry, theater and painting. The link with the performer is central to her compositional work, and leads her to cultivate exchanges with renowned ensembles from different aesthetic backgrounds. Her repertoire encompasses orchestral, chamber, solo instrumental and vocal music.
She writes for ensembles such as the Ensemble Intercontemporain, the K/D/M trio, the Ars Nova Ensemble, the Tokyo Sinfonietta Orchestra, the Quatuor Hélios, the Trio Messiaen, the Choeur et Orchestre de jeunes des Champs-Elysées (conducted by Mathieu Romano)… Her works have been performed at numerous festivals: Festival Chaillol, Brighton Festival, Festival Ars Terra, Présences Compositrice, Superspectives, Le vent sur l’arbre, Les Hémisphères, Why Note, Archipel… and creation venues (Le Panthéon, Cité de la voix à Vézelay, Abbaye de Fontevraud). In 2022, the Orchestre de Chambre de la Drôme commissioned her to write a concerto for marimba, Prince du Paradoxe, premiered under the direction of Rémi Durupt and with soloist Louis Quiles. In 2022, she won the international composition competition initiated by the Orchestre d’Harmonie la Sirène de Paris.
Lisa Heute is a founding member of the Orbis Ensemble (flute, saxophone, accordion and percussion) and, together with a collective of artists, is developing a variable-geometry logic, multiplying sonic possibilities and embracing a dynamic, creative contemporary repertoire. The ensemble works with video, image, dance and theater, while giving considerable thought to scenography and show form. She holds a Master’s degree in accordion and composition from the CNSMD in Lyon, and currently teaches accordion and composition at the Conservatoire Populaire in Geneva.
