BORDALEJO Tomás
After moving to Paris in 2005, Tomás Bordalejo attended the Conservatoire de Gennevilliers, then the CRR de Paris and the Pôle Supérieur de Création Boulogne-Billancourt. His meeting with composer Bernard Cavanna at the Académie de Villecroze was decisive for his career. Peter Eötvös, Pascal Dusapin, Yan Maresz, Philippe Hersant and Philippe Manoury also encouraged him to consolidate his own language, marked by an original aesthetic.

Biography
After moving to Paris in 2005, Tomás Bordalejo attended the Conservatoire de Gennevilliers, then the CRR de Paris and the Pôle Supérieur de Création Boulogne-Billancourt. His meeting with composer Bernard Cavanna at the Académie de Villecroze was decisive for his career. Peter Eötvös, Pascal Dusapin, Yan Maresz, Philippe Hersant and Philippe Manoury also encouraged him to consolidate his own language, marked by an original aesthetic.
Tomás Bordalejo has collaborated with the Ensembles 2e2m, TM+, Court- Circuit, Aleph, les Voix animées, l’Itinéraire, THReNSeMBle (budapest) and the Orchestre de chambre de Genève ; as well as with performers such as David Kadouch, Nöemi Schindler, Eric-Maria Couturier, Paul Meyer, Marianne Piketty, Jean Deroyer, Anthony Millet, Pierre Roullier, Nahuel Di Pierro, Alphonse Cemin, Vincent Lhermet, Gérard Caussé, Michel Portal…
Tomás Bordalejo has performed at Théâtre Colon, Philharmonie de Paris, Sorbonne University, Opéra de Lille, Théâtre de Gennevilliers, Scène Nationale de Chalon sur Saône, Cartoucherie, L’Athénée Louis Jouvet, Théâtre du Châtelet, Maison de la Musique de Nanterre, Opéra de Vichy, Abbaye du Thoronet, Musée d’Art Moderne de Toulon, Abbaye de Fontevraud, Toboggan (Lyon), Théâtre 71 de Malakoff, Arsenal de Metz, Victoria Hall de Genève…
Following his research-creation residency, IRCAM and Collegium Musicae commissioned a piece to be performed in 2016 at the Philharmonie de Paris as part of the Manifeste-2016 festival. That same year, he entrusted Alphonse Cemin with the direction of his first Opéra Bureau 470. In September 2017, as part of a project under the direction of Peter Eötvös and Pascal Dusapin supported by Art Mentor Foundation Lucerne and Ernst Von Siemens musikstiftung, Tomás Bordalejo created 2 operatic scenes at the Budapest Musical Center. In 2018, he created Fenêtrages 2 for Percussion and piano and Fétiches for solo violin for violinist Noëmi Schindler for Radio France’s “Création Mondiale” program.
In 2019, two pieces were premiered: Almafuerte at the request of the Maîtrise du CRR de Paris and the ensemble L’itinéraire, and Baguala for pianist David Kadouch. In August, a new production of the opera Bureau 470 was staged at the prestigious Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires.
2020 will see the premiere of the concerto for percussion and ensemble Les Heures, by Ensemble 2e2m conducted by Guillaume Bourgogne (commissioned by 2e2m and the Fondation Salabert), and the creation of Yeites, commissioned and premiered by Trio KDM. Several pieces from Tomás Bordalejo’s catalog will be revived in 2020, including Zapping 2 (Ensemble écoute), Fétiches (ISCM days New Zealand), Hauteurs (Festival de Cluny), Parkour (Orquesta Sinfonica Nacional Argentina, CCK), Bureau 470 (Teatro Colon, Argentina, revival of 2019 production).
Tomás Bordalejo is a laureate of the Fondation Banque Populaire and won the 2019 prize of the Tribune of Composers of Argentina (TRINAC).
