La Intrusa
55,00 €
This piece marks the first impulse in the writing of the pocket opera La Intrusa, inspired by Maurice Maeterlinck’s L’Intruse. Aleksi Barrière, librettist of La Intrusa, describes Maeterlinck’s L’Intruse as “an emblematic piece that sets out to reveal the dark forces that Western modernity has never been able to exorcise”. I therefore wanted to create an overture that would bring together the main musical themes and moods to be found throughout the opera, in the manner of a Mozartian opera overture. Mandolin, harp and guitar will be at the heart of the opera’s instrumentarium. These are three instruments with a long European tradition, but also rooted in South American culture (notably in Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay), where the action will take place.
The project will bring together Tomás Bordalejo (composer), Aleksi Barrière (director), the 2e2m ensemble conducted by Léo Margue, the TrioPolycordes, and the Sequenza 9.3 ensemble.
