Après une lecture de Dante                                                                                          Commissioned by the Jeunes Talents association, Après une lecture de Dante, for cello and piano borrows its title, by way of homage, from one of Franz Liszt’s  Année de Pèlerinage by Franz Liszt.                                                                                                 Like a classical sonata, this piece consists of three contrasting movements, each subtitled with a line from the great Italian poet’s the great Italian poet.                                              Tal ero io a quella vista nova                                                                                            Such was I before this marvellous vision                                                                              Vide cor tuum                                                                                                                      See your heart                                                                                                                        III.
